Parent Breakfast Presentation

MY MAJOR App

MyMajors, the student assessment tool that helps in the selection of college majors and matches higher education candidates with the most appropriate colleges, is now available in a convenient mobile app. The MyMajors App allows students to instantly engage with colleges and universities, starting with the MyMajors Quiz, the scientific survey that puts students on the fast track towards selecting the right colleges to consider.

MEFA Financial Aid Brochure

This is great information for parents to know, especially if you have not been through the process previously.  MEFA will be holding their annual seminar at Melrose High School on Thursday, November 29th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the high school resource center.  All parents are welcome.

Congratulations to the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship Recipients!

The recipients of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship from the MHS Class of 2012 have been released and we are proud to announce the students.  The Adams Scholarship is given by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to students that score Advanced on their MCAS assessment, and are in the top 25% of test takers from their district.  The award carries a tuition waiver if the student elects to attend one of the UMass or State University campuses for college.  The 65 recipients from the MHS Class of 2012 are:

Attention all Sophomores and Juniors

All sophomores and juniors are expected to take the PSAT on Saturday, October 20th. Registration is done through MHS Guidance and the fee is $30.  Checks are made payable to MHS Guidance.  The exam is given at Melrose High School, and is approximately 3.5 hours.  Students should arrive at 7:45 a.m. and bring #2 pencils and calculator.  If you are on a free or reduced price lunch, please see your counselor prior to registering.
